Global Unemployment Rates, 2010-2020

A bar race chart using Flourish using scraped data. This animated data visualization shows the changes in unemployment rates over the decade between 2010-2020.

It is clear to see the impact that Greece’s economic collapse had, as well as COVID’s toll on the global employment rate towards the end of the animation.

COVID Cases in Illinois, by County and College

This interactive map has two layers. The first is a purple heat map, showing the test positivity rate of each county in Illinois.

The overlaid red bubble map shows the number of cases per college.

To make this map, I scraped data from the New York Times as well as the City of Chicago Data Portal.
